With being one of the worlds largest and most diverse adult generations, would it be off-putting to say that "the future is in our hands”?
Wassssup fam? Is that a cross between millennial and gen z slang? Is that improper? I barely know the "rules of society" anymore, seeing that my number one focus is my children and husband, it can hard to keep up with the world at times. It really is all a "mess" in stepping back, looking at the bigger picture, and taking note. I tend to only laugh or cry these days. I'll explain in a later post the duality of such a time- for now I want to ask you guys a big question... but you are going to need to stimulate your imagination.
In keeping up with the Kardashian's, I mean .. world, as a millennial, truly seems impossible at times! You are either working your butt off (possibly with multiple jobs), just barely making ends meet, and unable to save a decent amount of money, or you’re putting in isolating and laborious hours in making a safe and welcoming home. If that is you, I want to commend you for your hard work and efforts! If you are not ether of those ends of the spectrum but are working towards a job promotion or career change, looking for a master program or new certification program, in the beginner phases of building a family, embarking on a new advanced health focused journey, or endlessly looking to find and support solutions for a building a better future for all, I also commend you!
Whatever energy you expend, if it has holds space for giving service or aid to others, if it helps heal your mind, body, or soul, as a millennial, I like to think you're on the right track. On the right track to what you might ask yourself? Well, to living a fulfilling, expansive, and more abundant healthy life.
Some say it is foolish to categorize generations into a timeline box, I say it is foolish to judge others before getting to know them. The only ones who holds distaste for the millennials are the elderly (who have no grandkids) and simultaneously, the youth (who is still figuring out many many things), they both have zero trust in us, and I find that clear to see, but let me digress. Today’s world is obviously nothing like that of the old, not in America, and I am positive in saying the same for around most of the world (that we know of anyway).
We now live in a modern post-internet millennial technological age, meaning, the last 10 years of the last literal CENTURY, in the 90's, a bittersweet sense of "freedom" rang true, but everything was about to take a major turning point, not only in America, but for the whole wide world. When did this happen? What has happened since? Where do we go from here?
The interlude to the future is very much lying in the blueprint given to the souls who made it earthside prior to the year y2k. (Yay, we can say we survived the millennial AND a major world illness, cough cough, aka C0vid) Could we agree to that? Yes, you should laugh. Unless you find my tint of dry sarcasm unfunny, then, kindly find the "x" all the way at the top right of your screen. No hard feelings. "You do you."
Have we millennials experienced some sort of time travel, dimension hop, is the impending NWO (New World Order, for the noobs) on its way, or is it just an early "mid-life” crisis? Did a veil really "lift" from the eyes of humanities consciousness? Do some of us not see the dots, the connecting points, and the relevance to our daily lives?
When I was a young girl, a young American kid of the 90s', I always had this "feeling" or "inkling", a simple thought if you will, that my generation, the millennial generation ( those born approximately between 1981-1996, with a few years overlap here and there) would "save the world". Insert a smiley emoji.
There is a major need for continual work amongst everyday civilians of America to uphold a duty to aid in promoting and practicing local community togetherness, national unity through protecting our most vulnerable populations, and choosing family first attitudes daily.
Together, we can! It might be messy, but we can do it. Are you with me?
Love always, Shawnee
